Grown Up?
Despite his attempts to stay, Evan came home. Immediately after his arrival, and much to his pleasure and surprise, his old friends started coming out of the woodwork. They had fun for a while, gamed, talked, found closure, and then they faded away to wherever they faded in from.
Then Evan set on a quest to answer the age old question of returned missionaries: "What do I do now?" He found a new group of friends, a good portion of them LDS, to game with. They were Josh Cairns, Garth Cahoon, the Scotts, Dan Cairns, Jasper, and a few other unseemly types.
During this time Aaron Hines decided to join the LDS Church. Also Luke Thompson, in an effort to thwart Aaron's plans, decided to learn everything there is to know about the LDS Church. In the process of thwarting Lucas was foiled. He converted himself to the religion and lost the irony of it all in the happiness he and Aaron found.
If you know Evan then you know how much he likes the girl he found.
They met at a movie theater around Sepember 98 where she was on a date with her steady boyfriend. Evan was hanging out with Aaron and heard the guy say something about Chicago and so naturally Evan chimed in with "I was in Chicago for 2 years." While they were chatting Lisa felt embarrased that her boyfriend was bragging about his seedy exploits in the military while Evan was telling him about his mission.
Later at a church conference (Jan 99), Evan was helping out as an usher where Lisa saw him again and remebered her first meeting with him. She thought to herself, "I'm going to marry a guy like that someday."
During Lisa's winter break at CSU Stanislaus they spent many an hour talking in the upstairs dining room at the Modesto Institute of Religion. Lisa asked Evan out on their first date at the prompting of Josh.
Evan asked Lisa to marry him May 1st and they were married July 10th 1999 in the Oakland, Ca Temple.

Evan has graduated Modesto Junior College and moved on to higher education. Being the crazy people they are Evan and Lisa moved to L.A. so Evan could attend CSU Pomona. They currently live in San Gabriel, Ca and Church there as well. Evan is currently attending Cal State LA
